Welcome to Toms Waterhole Winery - Canowindra Wines

Toms Waterhole Wines and its organically certified vineyard are located in Canowindra, part of the Cowra Wine Region New South Wales, Australia - NSW AU.

We are committed to a philosophy of regional excellence and minimum intervention. This means that we fully explore the unique flavours and character of grapes from the district, the concept described by the French as 'terroir' – and doing so by letting the grapes "speak for themselves". We specialise in small batch winemaking with a strong committment to developing a range of organic, no added preservative wines (NAP). In our organically certified winery, chemical enhancements are avoided by making the wine in small discrete batches. Contract winemaking is available. We accept that each vintage will be different, depending on the season, however it is already clear that Semillon, Shiraz and (especially) Cabernet Sauvignon from the Canowindra district have some uniquely desirable regional characters that persist from vintage to vintage. Our grape growing and winemaking is intended to enhance these characters especially for the tawny Port solera. Our Tomswaterhole Winery visitors can taste wines at the cellar door and join our on line shopping club as we publish an informative monthly newsletter with special newsletter only wine relaeses at wholesale prices.

Graham our resident winemaker is always available to show you around the winery and discuss winemaking styles and techniques. Wine education workshops including blending trials are held for groups by prior arrangement. The Waterhole Blend Semillon Chardonnay The Waterhole Blend Semillon Chardonnay
It is straw/gold in colour, has a clean citrus aroma complimented by peaches and melons from the Chardonnay and a lemon, lime and stone fruit taste.

2008 Toms Waterhole Chardonnay 2008 Toms Waterhole Chardonnay
This wine was made from local Canowindra organically grown fruit. The taste shows intense sweet fruit on the front of the tongue but finishes dry in the back of the mouth.

2008 Toms Waterhole Semillon 2008 Toms Waterhole Semillon
The palate is classic semillon with crisp citrus with apple and flint undertones.

It's dark red with purple tinges, showing a typical Cannowindra aroma of plums and spices with hints of marzipan.

2009 Gardners Ground Organic NAP Shiraz 2009 Gardners Ground Organic NAP Shiraz
This wine has a classic deep purple colour with the dark berry and plum characters. No added sulphur dioxide was added during the winemaking or bottling processes.
