 It's thick and purple and it smells like sticking your nose in a punnet of blackberries. It's a dense plum pudding of a wine with the taste of cassis, plums, chocolate and hints of cedar and coconut from new American oak.

For the record, the wine is dark red and has an unmistakable aroma of plums, fruitcake and raisins and has a rich plum and chocolate taste with soft "drink me" tannins. This is unmistakably an aged warm climate shiraz and unmistakably Canowindra. You won't be sorry to own a case.

 As soon as you smell it those typical Canowindra spices - cinnamon and cloves - jump out at you and the taste compounds them with dark chocolate, liquorice and vanilla from the French oak.

 A shining pink, perhaps just a fraction darker than 2009 but you'd only notice if you looked at them side by side. The aroma is intense, rose petals and strawberries and the wine starts sweet like 2009 and finishes citrus dry but unlike 2009 with a touch of green apple and, we think a slightly more intense and lingering after-taste.

 A Classic "Bottle Fermented", Brut, "Blanc de Blanc" made from 100% organic Chardonnay and aged on lees in the bottle for seven months. It's just 11.5% alcohol.

Straw gold in colour with fine, persistent beads of bubbles with a clean apple and peach aroma and a dry taste of granny smith apples and fresh bread. This is a lovely, crisp, celebration wine.

It is sealed with a new invention - a "Pressure Zork." This is an amazing re-sealable plastic "corK".  To open it you simply peel it away the spiral pressure ring.  You can put the top back on to keep the bubbles in.

 It is a 50 / 50 blend of  Semillon and Chardonnay, straw/gold in colour and has a clean citrus aroma complimented by peaches and melons from the Chardonnay and a lemon, lime taste.

 It's light green gold in colour with the aroma of stone fruit - maybe white peaches - and the taste of peaches and honeydew melons but over all is spread this lovely citrus character. It's a warm climate oaked Chardonnay for sure but not in the 1970s style, more 1970s interpreted in 2010; more subtle, more delicate, dryer and less cloying but still able to hold its own with a leg of pork.

 At the moment, as young Semillon it is clear straw in colour (actually it's almost as clear as water) with that distinctive Semillon aroma of cut grass, lanoline and citrus that follows through on the palate. What lifts it above the 2008 in our mind is that it seems to have an additional something - quince, grapefruit, and guava characters
